Ponca City, OK — Greenwood Aerospace is proud to announce it has been awarded a contract in support of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Aircraft Operations Center (AOC), reinforcing its role as a trusted provider of mission-critical aircraft propulsion solutions.
Under the award, Greenwood Aerospace will supply:
- Two (2) newly overhauled PT6A-60A engines to support NOAA’s King Air 350/360 aircraft fleet
- Two (2) newly overhauled PT6A-27 engines (0 hours Time Since Overhaul) with core exchange to support NOAA’s DHC-6 Twin Otter fleet
This procurement directly supports NOAA’s FY25 Aircraft Allocation Plan (AAP), which plays a vital role in protecting life and property through environmental monitoring, research, and operational missions. Engine availability is essential to maintaining aircraft readiness and minimizing downtime caused by scheduled or unscheduled maintenance.
NOAA’s AOC currently has limited spare engine inventory for these platforms. By replenishing overhauled PT6A engines, the award ensures long-term fleet sustainability, reduces maintenance risk, and strengthens operational continuity across both aircraft fleets.
The engines will be delivered within six months of contract award, or as soon as practicable, and shipped to NOAA’s AOC facility in Lakeland, Florida, for on-site inventory storage and operational support.
Greenwood Aerospace is honored to support NOAA’s critical aviation mission and remains committed to delivering reliable, high-quality solutions that enable mission success.
