Our Story
A Legacy of Aviation Excellence
For over five decades, Greenwood Aerospace has stood on a foundation of innovation, reliability, and family-driven service. What began in Ponca City, Oklahoma, with Charles F. Greenwood learning to fly to better serve his customers, has evolved into a deep-rooted aviation legacy passed down through generations.
From Local Airfield to National Partner
In 1982, Charles’s son Chuck Greenwood founded Greenwood Aviation, operating the Ponca City Fixed Base Operation (FBO) and quickly earning a reputation for exceptional service and operational excellence. The company’s early success in commercial aviation laid the groundwork for a strategic expansion into defense and government contracting.
Expanding to Serve the Mission
Greenwood’s transition from a regional aviation service provider to a trusted federal partner began with its first Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) contract, supplying jet fuel to the U.S. military. From there, our capabilities grew to include aircraft leasing, logistics support, and aviation parts procurement for multiple federal agencies, including the U.S. Forest Service and Department of Defense.
